Whimsical modular library may join the LEGO Ideas collection

Modular buildings haven't had much luck on LEGO Ideas, but a library with a book facade still hopes to succeed in the third 2024 review.

After 21353 The Botanical Garden was modified to be much less modular than originally pitched, EmperorMango is still aiming for success as they have proposed a modular library and park featuring a whimsical, but somewhat grounded exterior.

Their project has now reached 10,000 supporters and presents a sizable library over a single baseplate designed to resemble a trio of books and a half-baseplate park. That puts it at around the same size as 10326 Natural History Museum and 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion.

As is often the case with modular buildings both official and fan-designed, a full interior is included with two floors of books and seating and there's a skylight to let in some natural light as well as plenty of windows on all sides.

Given how successful modular models have been in the LEGO Ideas review rounds so far, this modular library may not be in our future but with any luck, 21353 The Botanical Garden has presented a way in which such models can be adapted for official LEGO Ideas models and this library doesn't necessarily need to be modular to work.

For now, EmperorMango's model joins the third 2024 review as we enter the final month of the year. There are currently 39 submissions in the running for a future LEGO Ideas set.
