What to expect from rumoured LEGO Technic Ducati set

What to expect from rumoured LEGO Technic Ducati set

A new LEGO Technic motorcycle set is rumoured for January 2025 and reported details suggest that we already know what to expect from it.

A recent rumour for LEGO Technic's 2025 selection stated that 42202 Ducati Motorcycle would be coming early next year with 1,603 pieces for $199.99. While nothing more has been stated, that puts it on par with 42130 BMW M 1000 RR and 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP.

Assuming that this rumoured set is at the same scale and is part of the massive LEGO Technic motorcycle collection, there are a few consistent details between them that we may be able to expect in the reported 2025 set.

A display stand, or two

Both LEGO Technic motorcycle sets feature a display stand with some form of display plaque featuring the brand of the motorcycle to best display the model. 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP only features one display stand but the older 42130 BMW M 1000 RR has an extra display stand holding the back wheel up.

The rumoured Ducati build will likely feature at least one removable display stand too, though it has yet to be confirmed and should be taken with caution.

A working gearbox

The working three-speed gearbox transmission mechanism in both 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP and 42130 BMW M 1000 RR remain one of the most impressive functions in either model.

It's a safe bet that the feature will return in the rumoured LEGO Technic Ducati model, possibly expanding the mechanism for additional speeds too.

A sizable model

Based on 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP and 42130 BMW M 1000 RR, you can expect the rumoured 42202 Ducati Motorcycle to be around the same scale with its reported price and piece count.

You can probably plan a spot measuring around 45cm long, 17cm wide and 27cm high for the reported 2025 model since both official builds have been around this size.
