We could have had a three-way LEGO crossover in July 2024

An upcoming collaboration between a current and former LEGO partner could have led to a three-way LEGO crossover had the latter continued.

While the theme is postponed indefinitely after two years since the LEGO Group confirmed it was reviewing its partnership with Activision Blizzard – the parent company behind the game’s developer – Overwatch 2 is ongoing following Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

The next season of the multiplayer title has recently been confirmed to have a crossover with some coincidental, but interesting timing. Overwatch's next collaboration is with Transformers starting on July 9.

Usually, these collaborations include skins of Overwatch's characters cosplaying as the characters or in outfits otherwise inspired by them. Still, it's a collaboration that could have completed a three-way crossover had LEGO Overwatch continued.

On July 1 for LEGO Insiders or July 4 widely, the second LEGO Transformers set will launch in the form of 10338 Bumblebee. The timing of its release in relation to Overwatch's collaboration with the franchise next month has us wondering what such a crossover would have been like. It's unfortunately not the case as LEGO Overwatch is postponed at the time of writing.

Still, next month is proving to be an exciting time for Transformers enthusiasts and you can find out more 10338 Bumblebee by reading our detailed review before the set launches on July 1 for LEGO Insiders or July 4 for everyone else. 10302 Optimus Prime is available now and is the first LEGO Transformers set to launch.
