Two notes for next week's double LEGO Insiders points event

Double LEGO Insiders points are back next week, but there are two important notes to keep in mind, unique to this occasion.

Whether you opt to spend your points on exclusive rewards or discounts on future LEGO sets (equal to 10% cashback during the event), LEGO Insiders can score double points on all purchases from June 19 to 23. It's a great opportunity to catch up on recent sets, but this time there are additional incentives to take part, the likes of which are rare for double points events.

While you wait for the event to start on June 19 and plan your purchases, keep these two notes in mind.

Maybe wait to order some BrickLink Series 5 sets

Update: The LEGO Group's customer support has confirmed that double points do apply to BrickLink Designer Program sets, but may not be added automatically based on when the products ship. In that case, you can reach out to customer service and ask for them to be added manually.

During the rare occasions previously where there has been a double LEGO Insiders points event (or VIP as it was known back in the day) and a BrickLink Designer Program series, the crowdfunded sets have reportedly counted toward double points since they act as a pre-order, which does count towards double points.

It will be worth double-checking this when the next event starts on June 19, due to conflicting reports over the years, but this would be a great opportunity. One fact that is confirmed is that you can use LEGO Insiders points towards discounts on BrickLink Designer Program sets, in case you want to start saving up for Series 8 no matter what you purchase.

That's not to say you should wait to order all of the Series 5 sets, though. Popcorn Wagon, Adventure in Transylvania and The Thieves of Tortuga are close to selling out and may not last four more days. There are plenty of copies of Antique Shop and Mushroom Village available still, which should be safer bets for double points next week.
