The LEGO Winter Village could be upgrading its transportation soon

Early rumours for the next LEGO Winter Village collection set suggest that the snow-covered locale could be hugely upgrading its transportation.

The LEGO Winter Village collection is one of the most expansive ranges within the LEGO portfolio, adding a new addition every year since 2009. Many of the 15 models in the collection have a common aspect – transportation.

Whether via sleigh, carriage, truck, tram or train, the minifigures of the Winter Village have had plentiful ground transportation options for the past 15 years. For 2024 though, rumour has it they're getting an upgrade.

Instagram user itavixbrix reports (via Brick Clicker) that this year's Winter Village model will be 10339 Winter Hot Air Balloon Ride for $99.99 and pieces. The addition of a hot air balloon to the range could be huge for minifigures, adding air transport to the village beyond Santa's sleigh, which not every minifigure will be able to access.

A hot air balloon could also significantly upgrade annual Winter Village displays with the help of some transparent stands or sturdy wire, suspending the rumoured balloon build above the village. While the same can be said for Santa's sleigh, that's part of another collection within the Winter Village and this way you could have the option to keep things realistic.

All of this depends on whether the rumour for 10339 Winter Hot Air Balloon Ride is accurate and all reported details should be taken with caution in case anything turns out to be inaccurate. With any luck, this could be an exciting year for the LEGO Winter Village Collection.
