The LEGO NINJAGO Movie cast struggled to keep it clean

The cast of The LEGO NINJAGO Movie struggled to keep their natural comic instincts in check when recording the film's dialogue. In an interview with Yahoo, Olivia Munn – who voices Koko in The LEGO NINJAGO Movie – explained that some of the cast members went for their typical riffing rather than bearing in mind that it is a movie for all ages.

“In particular, the Silicon Valley guys [Woods and Nanjiani] were really inappropriate. They don’t know how to be kid-friendly, which was a big problem for a kid-friendly movie.”

It’s perhaps not surprising given that the cast are some of the finest comic actors around. Zach Woods and Kumail Nanjiani discussed their ad-libbing process.

“We said words like the F-word, the P-word, the B-word… the W-word,” said Nanjiani.

“That one’s rough,” added Woods.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie range is due for release on August 1. The LEGO NINJAGO Movie is due for release on September 22 in the USA and October 13 in the UK.
