The BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 sets weren't the only launches of the day, as the LEGO Brick Clog is now sold out on the LEGO store.
After receiving some mixed to negative reactions from enthusiasts online and in an early review, it would appear that the LEGO Group and Crocs knew what they were doing with 5010203 Brick Clog. Earlier today, the price of the unique footwear was amended from £199.99 / $199.99 / €199.99 to £149.99 / $149.99 / €149.99, knocking 25% off the originally-listed price but bringing it in line with what was listed on the Crocs website and in the press release.
Whether because of this price amendment or otherwise, the Brick Clog is now completely sold out on LEGO.com. There are no sizes left in the UK, the US or Europe at the time of writing, after it was released just hours ago.
We don't know how many copies of the Brick Clog each region had to sell, though it's still astounding to see the footwear being sold out everywhere. That's at least the case on LEGO.com. Head to the Crocs website and you can still order one size of the shoe per gender, but few copies remain available.
It's possible that the LEGO Brick Clog has sold out this fast due to a similar situation with 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise last month. That model was quick to sell through its hefty number of pre-orders, shortly before appearing at much higher prices on secondary marketplaces.
Pokémon has its own issue with scalpers, especially with the trading cards, but it may be that the LEGO Brick Clog has drawn the eye of a similar crowd. Alternatively, maybe the unique footwear is much more in demand than expected, or there were few copies available for purchase.
Unless the LEGO Brick Clog is restocked, there are many other ways to spend £149.99 / $149.99 / €149.99 on the official online store, such as ordering the BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 sets. Note that when sets are listed as sold out on LEGO.com, they are not usually restocked.
