Star Wars: The Mandalorian is the new live-action TV series

The title for the new Star wars live actions television series is The Mandalorian. Jon Favreau, the creative behind the new Star Wars live action television series, has revealed the title on Instagram. The filmmaker was recently spotted on one of the sets for the new series, showing a desert location. The ten episode show, that will be released on the upcoming Disney streaming service, will be titled The Mandalorian. Here is the synopsis that Favreau shared:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the New Republic….

That places the series chronologically after Return of the Jedi and before the new animated series Star Wars Resistance, which itself takes place before The Force Awakens. For those not versed in some of the more obscure aspects of Star Wars lore, Boba Fett and Jango Fett wore Mandalorian armour, but were not Mandalorian warriors. The world of Mandalore has been explored in numerous novels, comic books and in The Clone Wars television series. Rebels also revised the world, dealing with Sabine Wren’s journey, who hailed from Mandalore. Jon Favreau voiced Mandalorian renegade Pre Visla in The Clone Wars.
