Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 4 may still be on the way despite rumours of it being turned into a movie and the announcement of a film.
Previous rumours posited that Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 4 could be turned into a movie and with the announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu film, it appears that these rumours are true. A Hollywood insider claimed that this wouldn't be the case though and there may not be a reason to worry after all.
Deadline reports that the fourth season of the series is still in development as well as the new movie and the upcoming Mandoverse crossover film from Dave Filoni. Nothing has been confirmed officially at the time of writing but the source's track record may give reason to be optimistic.
Exactly when the fourth season could arrive in relation to The Mandalorian & Grogu is not known, but the movie is going into production later this year. A second season of Ahsoka has also been confirmed in the press release for the new film. Dave Filoni is likely going to be busy over the next couple of years.
