Six of LEGO Speed Champions' best minifigures

LEGO Speed Champions is known for its buildable cars, but recent sets feature some great minifigures, and this is nothing new for the theme.

LEGO Speed Champions is starting next with a bang through a trio of movie-inspired models, including some appealing minifigures of licensed characters. As much as the theme has become iconic for its cars, the minifigures across movie and manufacturer models are not to be ignored.

While we wait for the three new sets next year, here's a look at five of the best minifigures in LEGO Speed Champions, standing alongside their respective vehicles.

Suki

Suki in 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 is the most detailed of the Fast & Furious minifigures so far, complete with some exclusive leg printing that even comes with a LEGO element reference. Combine her pink outfit with the car, and this is one LEGO Speed Champions minifigure not to miss, not that you'll be able to avoid spotting the brightly-coloured car on shelves.

BMW driver

The two BMW driver minifigures in 76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8 may be retiring soon, but their outfits make them a pair of appealing minifigures alongside the buildable cars. These minifigures stand out for their mismatched legs, matching the stylish racing suits with some additional, but not required, leg printing on the coloured leg. Those seeking some stylish matching racing suits for minifigure couples need look no further than 76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8, but act fast before this set retires.

James Bond

James Bond's only minifigure from the now-retired 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 is based on Daniel Craig's depiction from No Time to Die, perfectly capturing his stoic expression in one of LEGO Speed Champions' best licensed minifigures.

Casual Porsche fan

Moving away from movies once more, the casual Porsche fan minifigure in 75895 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 has a great torso for making your own custom characters. The combination of the decorated shirt with the brown leather jacket makes this a simple, but appealing minifigure for Porsche fans that be easily outfitted with different parts to look like you.

Marty McFly

We'll round out this list with two more upcoming LEGO Speed Champions minifigure, but it's hard to argue that these are some of the most interesting in the theme. Marty McFly from 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future is one such minifigure, making great use of the puffed vest element from DREAMZzz, which also helps it to stand out from the other Marty minifigures, finally printing just his denim jacket underneath the red outerwear. The set was already destined to be a hit with Back to the Future enthusiasts, and this detail doesn't hurt.

Joshua Pearce

One of the latest LEGO Speed Champions minifigures to be revealed is 77252 APXGP Team Race Car's Joshua Pearce, acting as the first minifigure of Damson Idris. Brad Pitt's Sonny Hayes minifigure is equally good, but we're highlighting the Pearce minifigure for the unique nature of the face print. We don't have too many black minifigure heads wearing glasses, and this small feature is sure to make the minifigure more desirable for making various figures from throughout history.

Here's a reminder of the LEGO Speed Champions sets confirmed and rumoured for next year, but only the three movie cars have been announced at the time of writing. They have four minifigures between them, since 77255 Lightning McQueen does not need any minifigures.
