Seven minifigures we want to see in the rumoured LEGO Star Wars January wave

With eight LEGO Star Wars set rumours for January 2027 appearing online, fan speculation is already building around which minifigures could be included if they are officially released.

Spanning the original trilogy through to the prequels – alongside continued expansion of LEGO Star Wars subthemes – there is plenty of room for long-awaited returns and fan favourites.

Here are seven minifigures we think would make strong inclusions if the sets do release next year.

Padmé Amidala – 75470 Mustafar Duel

Rumoured at $39.99, 75470 Mustafar Duel would be double the price of the 2020 set 75269 Duel on Mustafar. That opens the door for a third minifigure, and Padmé feels like a natural fit. Her Mustafar appearance is iconic, and she has never been included in this scene before.

Separatist Council Member – 75470 Mustafar Duel

Another strong option  for 75470 Mustafar Duel would be a Separatist Council member. Characters like Nute Gunray and Poggle the Lesser have not appeared in over a decade, while Wat Tambor has never been made as a minifigure. Any of them would be a welcome return.

Lando Calrissian – 75480 Bespin Duel

75222 Betrayal at Cloud City included an 18-minifigure lineup, with Lando Calrissian among them – now a highly valuable character. A refreshed version would suit 75480 Bespin Duel and its rumoured $79.99 price point, which should offer more than just the duel itself.

Princess Leia – 75480 Bespin Duel

Leia would complement 75480 Bespin Duel's potential minifigure lineup perfectly. Alongside Luke and Darth Vader, she completes the key family dynamic. Her Bespin outfit, braided hair, and maroon tones would translate well into a modern update.

Grand Moff Tarkin – 75478 Y-wing

Tarkin could work as an added Imperial presence in 75478 Y-wing, similar to how Morgan Elsbeth was included in 75364 New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter. While not directly part of the fight, he fits the wider Battle of Yavin context, much like Morgan Elsbeth did in that set.

Dagobah Training Luke Skywalker – 75463 X-wing Microfighter

We don’t yet know what era of X-wing 75463 X-wing Microfighter will be, but if the LEGO Group takes a creative approach with the concept, it could open the door for a Dagobah-themed version of the build. Dagobah Luke would be a strong choice for a lower-priced set.

Golden Darth Vader – 75466 Darth Vader Art

Little is known about this set, as there is no prior precedent for it, but a hidden golden Darth Vader could be a standout inclusion. If it follows a similar style to 76330 Batman Logo, that kind of surprise inclusion would fit well. The LEGO Group has already experimented with variants like Jedi Vader and Gingerbread Vader, so it wouldn’t feel out of place.

All of these sets remain rumoured, and these ideas are purely speculative. Nothing is confirmed yet, but if this turns out to be the start of the 2027 LEGO Star Wars lineup, it would be a strong one.
