A rumoured $250 addition to the most-detailed LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle ever has promising potential, as long as it fulfils a few needs.
Recent rumours from Instagram user a.clay.brick includes a wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets coming in the summer of 2025. Of the seven rumoured sets, the $249.99 76454 Hogwarts Castle: The Main Tower arguably has the most potential, likely connecting to
While these seven sets remain rumours at the time of writing and should be taken with caution, 76454 Hogwarts Castle seems likely to be part of the most-detailed Hogwarts Castle yet, which has been slowly building up since the start of 2024 and is still not complete. The LEGO Group has visited this part of Hogwarts Castle multiple times before but never in a dedicated set beyond the 40577 Hogwarts: Grand Staircase gift-with-purchase.
While we wait to see whether or not this LEGO Harry Potter rumour ends up being accurate, we can note a few features that are must-haves in the biggest and most detailed LEGO Hogwarts Castle main tower model to date.
Moving staircases

The interior of the main tower in Hogwarts Castle, next to the Great Hall, mostly consists of many moving staircases and living portraits in a fairly cavernous space even with the many staircases. The LEGO Group has experimented with these moving staircases in
Both times, there has only ever been a handful of moving staircases but a larger take on the tower would allow the designers to create a more intricate mechanism to intertwine multiple moving staircases after minifigures have been placed on them for a mesmerising display.
Plenty of portraits

Similar to the moving staircases, the LEGO Group has explored the dozens of portraits in the main tower in previous sets, but mostly using stickers and rarely featuring a brick-built frame.
The rumoured $250 tower model would provide an opportunity and budget to blend stickers with prints and brick-built frames for a more varied array of paintings on display around the building. There may even be the chance to mix in the upper half of some minifigures for some portraits that can be posed or miniature mechanism to move paintings in groups as the staircases move.
Accurate scale

As 2Bricks has depicted in an entirely custom Hogwarts Castle model, a $250 tower model stands a good chance at being to scale with
That price makes up a wider build though and it wouldn't be surprising to see the rumoured tower set be slightly thinner than it should be. Assuming that there's no back would help make it to scale within budget too.
Floating ghost minifigures

The LEGO Group has released a few of the Hogwarts Castle ghosts as minifigures so far and bringing them together in the rumoured 76454 Hogwarts Castle: The Main Tower. Being able to pose these minifigures on the new transparent element would add some undead life and a magical aspect to the inside of an otherwise cavernous model.
