Every LEGO reference in the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy minifigures

The LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets have all been revealed including several LEGO-specific references in the names and designs of their minifigures.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy has yet to be released on Disney+ and is scheduled to start streaming on September 13. Before that though, the specials three tie-in LEGO Star Wars sets have been revealed including one at San Diego Comic-Con. They launch on August 1 and while there are several Star Wars Easter eggs to appreciate, especially in 75389 The Dark Falcon, they also pay homage to the LEGO Group's lengthy history through a few references.

With a specific look at the sets' minifigures, here's every LEGO-specific Easter egg in the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy minifigures that you might have missed. You can read our reviews of the upcoming sets by clicking here.

Yesi Scala

Yesi Scala is included in 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up and while her design has nothing to keep an eye out for, her name is a reference to the long-retired Scala theme from 1979 that ran until 2001.

The classic LEGO theme focused on jewellery and dolls and while the LEGO Group has changed a lot since 1979, you could argue that Scala lives on through LEGO Friends and the now-retired LEGO DOTS. That's as well as LEGO Star Wars' Yesi Scala.

Sig Greebling

Sig Greebling's name may be an obvious reference to some but there are others who may be oblivious to the Easter egg. Similar to Yesi, Sig's design is suitably generic but his name is the home of at least one reference. Greebling is a technique used much within LEGO Star Wars, including in 75329 Death Star Trench Run Diorama. It sees smaller and unusual elements used to depict extra details with a sense of organised chaos.

Sig's first name may similarly be a reference to 'sigfigs' – custom minifigures with personality or a signature design created by enthusiasts to place in their collection, occasionally representing them. Sig Greebling is included in 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up

L3-GO

L3-GO is also included in 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up and there's no prize for guessing what this minifigure is referencing.

The exclusive astromech's name and the colour scheme both pay homage to the name and logo of the LEGO Group – almost too fitting for the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars.

Rebel Pilot

Another minifigure in 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up has a notable Easter egg to point out too and this one can be easily missed at first glance.

The Rebel Pilot in 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up wears a helmet sporting a red rectangle with three circles inside it. This seems likely to be a reference to either a 1x3 plate or piece, subtly hidden in an otherwise uniform design for Star Wars pilot helmets.

Jedi Bob

75388 Jedi Bob's Starfighter's yellow-skinned minifigure may seem to be an oddity for LEGO Star Wars but back in the early days of the theme, this was how minifigures were designed. Jedi Bob is one of the earliest Jedi to be introduced in the theme and a wholly original character and his return for the 25th anniversary makes complete sense.
