What other ships can fit in the $1,000 LEGO Death Star's hangar?

LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star has a huge hangar bay with room for two ships, but the designer has revealed another set that fits in the space.

The 9,000-piece 75419 Death Star is coming soon, featuring several rooms recreating moments from across the original trilogy. The biggest of these rooms is a hangar bay that houses the included Imperial Shuttle, as well as 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack.

With the starry sky in the background and decorated floor, this space is one of the most attractive in the huge set, and its open nature makes it perfect for displaying other LEGO Star Wars sets. The designer of 75419 Death Star – César Soares – has even confirmed that another build fits perfectly in this space and makes sense in the story of 75419 Death Star.

“The Imperial shuttle was a personal choice of mine," said César in a recent interview with Brick Fanatics and other LEGO fan media. "I pushed for it. And I think for a few reasons, it was accepted. First of all, it’s a very iconic ship, and we’ve never had one on this scale before. It’s white, which contrasts really well with the rest of the model. And we do have the midi-scale Falcon still on the market. Just saying – it fits really well in the hangar.”

Brickset has demonstrated that, as the designer states, 75375 Millennium Falcon fits perfectly in the hangar bay, and looks great to recreate the scene where the ship is pulled into the Death Star and boarded, though minifigures will be completely out of scale with it.

75375 Millennium Falcon is available now for £74.99 / $84.99 / €84.99, and it's currently 28% off at Amazon UK. This leads to the question of what else will fit in the hangar bay of 75419 Death Star, and make sense at the scale. There are few other midi-scale LEGO Star Wars sets at a remotely similar scale to 75375 Millennium Falcon, and 75406 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle might work in terms of scale, but it didn't exist in the same era as the Death Star.

75312 Boba Fett’s Starship is the right scale, and it's not out of the question that the ship would have been parked in the space station at some point while the Empire was working with the titular bounty hunter. Alternatively, all three of the previous LEGO TIE Microfighters (with minor modifications) will look good in the room and work alongside 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack.

You can pick up LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star and see what else fits in the hangar bay for £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99 starting next month. LEGO Insiders get the first chance at the set from October 1, with a wide release from October 4.
