New LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising series starts

New LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising series starts

The latest LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising series has started not long after its official reveal, showcasing a trio of brand-new sets in a fresh way.

The Elemental Mechs mini-series of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising has begun days after its first trailer was released. This new mini-series features the return of Chronosteel, but used for a more heroic purpose when was it was originally introduced.

The first episode is available to watch now and the rest of this report will feature some spoilers. Exactly when the other episodes will be released has yet to be confirmed, though they're likely coming soon after this first instalment of the mini-series.

The short episode focuses on a shipment of dangerous items coming to the Crossroads and debuts the elemental mechs included in 71806 Cole's Elemental Earth Mech, 71807 Sora's Elemental Tech Mech and 71808 Kai's Elemental Fire Mech. It has yet to showcase the function to mix limbs, but instead offers a look at a feature not present in the sets.

The mechs can transform into small discs that can be carried on the ninjas' backs for easier portability. Without bending the laws of physics or scaling the discs' size up, this feature would likely have been too hard to integrate into the three new LEGO NINJAGO sets. Despite this, the printed tile on each of the physical mechs corresponds to the centre of each of the discs, for anyone aiming to recreate them.

This mini-series is likely to be separate from the second season of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising confirmed for later this year and the trailer for The Elemental Mechs has confirmed that there's a lot more still to come in the mini-series, including a returning villain.

Rumours for many more LEGO NINJAGO sets have recently surfaced but in the meantime, a new wave is available now featuring the three mechs featured in the first episode as well as another mech for Arin featuring the same circular symbol as the three combining mechs.
