Mysterious LEGO City set revealed with familiar minifigure

While the reveal of 60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp and its new interactive elements is exciting, a second model may have been revealed too.

Out of the many images for 60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp on the landing page teasing different parts of the model, one should stand out for its minifigure and the build.

The crocodile shrine and the airboat are not included in 60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp according to official imagery, meaning the following image may be of another model entirely.

While it's included on the landing page for 60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp, the URL for this model includes '60692_Block_Standard_3.jpg' and it doesn't appear to be featured in any other image of 60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp. It seems likely that this is another LEGO City model with the set number 60692.

Whether this is the full model or just part of a larger set is not yet known as we're awaiting further details. For now, there are a couple of interesting aspects to note. The lone minifigure in the image has red hair and a teal torso which matches up with Pippin Reed from 21344 The Orient Express Train.

The returning LEGO Adventurers character recently came back alongside Dr. Kilroy in 10326 Natural History Museum and Johnny Thunder in LEGO City's 60424 Jungle Explorer ATV Red Panda Mission, leading us to wonder whether this could be a second modern Pippin Reed minifigure.

The inclusion of glasses could mean that this minifigure is meant to be a homage to the classic character, though it could also be a way for the LEGO designers to include the character in a more affordable model than the £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99 21344 The Orient Express Train, similar to Captain Rex recently.

The temple model in the set features a giant Crocodile head, which could be a reference to The Legends of Chima and specifically 70014 The Croc Swamp Hideout. Crocodiles are also in 60425 Jungle Explorer Water Plane from the jungle exploration range though so this may just be a continuation.

Whatever the case may be, 60692 seems to be an interesting LEGO City set but nothing more is known at the time of writing. We'll have to wait for further details to be revealed as with 60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp.
