More and more retiring LEGO sets are continuing to sell out permanently ahead of the Black Friday period, from themes including Star Wars, Ideas, Indiana Jones, Disney and Marvel.
Roughly 400 different LEGO sets are due to depart shelves for good by the end of 2024, but some are already starting to vanish from LEGO.com in select regions. Products are generally considered to be gone for good once they reach ‘Sold out’ status, while those that are just ‘Temporarily out of stock’ – even if they’re retiring – are likely to be available at least once more before selling out permanently.
Plenty of LEGO sets have already been struck with the ‘Sold out’ label at LEGO.com across the UK and US though, including some heavy hitters that may now jump in price on the aftermarket. In the UK, the most noteworthy examples include 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol, 76210 Hulkbuster,
Also sold out in the UK at the time of writing are
Over in the US, early retirees include
80113 Family Reunion Celebration, 41751 Skate Park, 40521 Mini Disney The Haunted Mansion and even this summer’s short-lived LEGO City 60425 Jungle Explorer Water Plane have also sold out in the US, meanwhile, so time is up to grab those through official channels. These are really just a handful of the sets on their way out in 2024, but they’re proof if you need it that sets can disappear at any point in the run-up to December 31.
If your current LEGO wishlist includes any other retiring sets, you’ve now got a pretty difficult decision to make: do you hold out until Black Friday (when we can expect double points and new gifts-with-purchase) and hope they’re still available, or do you pull the trigger now? The latest gift-with-purchase 40696 Bakery has apparently sold out in both the UK and US, but stateside shoppers can still bag a pair of free gaming theme polybags until October 25 with select orders.
