Marvel Studios has dropped the first trailer for What If…? Season 2, with the Disney+ animated series dropping over nine consecutive days.
There’s a festive treat coming for Disney+ subscribers from December 22, with all-new episodes of What If…? being rolled out from that date. Unlike the first series of the animated show, one episode of Season 2 will be released each day for nine days as an early Christmas present to fans.
That matches the same number of episodes included in Season 1, although those originally dropped on Disney+ on a weekly schedule. The series brings back the Watcher (voiced once again by Jeffrey Wright) to narrate the show and will continue to reveal new tales from across the length and breadth of the ever-expanding Marvel multiverse.
The first trailer for What If…? Season 2 includes versions of a number of fan-favourite characters such as Black Panther, Ant-Man, Nebula, Rocket Raccoon, Thor, Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch and many others. A Season 1 mid-credit sequence revealed Captain Carter discovering the Hydra Stomper armour with someone inside the suit and the animated show is reported to reveal exactly who that is in the first episode of the upcoming series.
Also spotted in the What If…? Season 2 trailer is Giant Man, a minifigure of whom is included with 71039 Marvel Series 2’s character selection, and a huge monster truck that looks to be the same as the vehicle build option in the now-retired 76194 Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man.
What If…? Season 2 will debut its first episode on December 22, with an additional eight episodes then rolling out on Disney+ on each consecutive following day.
