LEGO Zelda 2026 rumour suggests no lessons have been learned

If this April Fools' Day rumour proves to be true, the LEGO Group and Nintendo may not have learned what we hoped from the first LEGO Zelda set.

77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 was the very first LEGO Zelda set and, while fans were undoubtedly excited by it, it did leave some areas for improvement. The 2-in-1 nature of it meant it was customisable, which is an admirable sentiment, but it did leave the build with a hefty piece count and price that excluded some fans.

The fresh rumour for 2026 suggests that a future LEGO Zelda set will reportedly be an 18+, direct to consumer set. While that shouldn't be taken as confirmation that the possible 2026 build will be quite as expensive as the existing 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 – it also doesn't fill fans with confidence that they'll be getting a cheaper, more accessible build or indeed a more expansive, varied Zelda theme.

Nonetheless, there are still plenty of options out there for this set, so join Matthew over on our YouTube channel, get your tinfoil hat at the ready, and enjoy some healthy speculation on what the future could hold for LEGO Zelda.
