LEGO fans and ship fans alike can soon get to grips with 10294 Titanic, which is finally up for pre-order on LEGO.com.
The Titanic is one of history's most famous – and ill-fated – ships. During its maiden voyage, the Titanic's collision with an iceberg caused the ship to sink. Over 1,500 passengers died as a result, although the tragedy inspired new safety measures for international travel.
Given the ship's size and position in history, a suitably lavish LEGO set was to be expected. In addition to its impressive length (1.35m), the 9,090-piece Titanic can break apart for storage or transportation. This allows you to appreciate the many fine details inside and outside the Olympic-class liner.

The internal sections of the Titanic include boilers, cabins, and even a swimming pool. You can also remove the Titanic's steam engines to better appreciate her mighty innards. The exterior of the ship is similarly lavish; it features a working rudder and propellors, benches, era-appropriate flags and lifeboats (though not too many, sadly). A tribute to a former LEGO designer also pops up during the build.
If you have space to display it, the Titanic will make a real statement in any room or LEGO collection. It also features a tasteful display stand and nameplate, in case you ever forget which ship you bought.
10294 Titanic will be available for general purchase on November 8. You may be tempted to wait for Black Friday before making a purchase, but even with its size and hefty price tag, we suspect it could vanish over the horizon before then.
