LEGO teases a Luigi follow-up to the best Mario Kart set out there

The LEGO Group has teased a Luigi companion to LEGO Mario Kart 72037 Mario & Standard Kart on social media.

The LEGO Group has shared a teaser for a future LEGO Mario Kart set on social media, posting a clip of 72037 Mario & Standard Kart seemingly ready to race, before looking to his left. A similar scale set slides into view, but with the distinctive green of Luigi.

He appears to be driving his Mach 8 kart, recognisable not just from Mario Kart but also from the classic Luigi death star meme. Could the set include an alternate face for real authenticity? We can only hope.

LEGO Mario Kart Luigi tease

From what we can make out from the glimpse of Luigi, he appears to be built in the same style and scale as Mario, although his kart has different dimensions. The wheels are much larger, positioned at an angle compared to the Standard Kart.

Even from an early look, the pair look great next to one another. 72037 Mario & Standard Kart has earned high praise from the Brick Fanatics team, so we can only wish for a similar slam dunk for Luigi.

Previous rumours suggested that 72050 Luigi & Kart, which is presumably what this tease refers to if we're putting two and two together, could arrive in April, so there's hopefully not long to wait. However, it's worth noting that rumoured details like the release date, set name, and set number haven't been confirmed by the LEGO Group, so take them with the usual pinch of salt until we get a formal reveal.
