LEGO Super Mario sets have been unveiled for Mario Day including a new train that is functional, but not in the way you might be hoping.

The kinetic features in the set are highlighted and images can't quite convey how they work. As the handcar at the back moves forward or backwards, either side of the mechanism moves up and down accordingly. As the engine moves forward, Boom Boom spins around as he does in the game and the steam moves up and down too.
