LEGO Star Wars sets sell out in early August, but not the ones we expected

The August 2025 LEGO sets out of stock or on back order after their recent launch are surprising, considering what they launched alongside.

Unless you've been sleeping under a rock, you'll know that dozens of LEGO sets were released on August 1, 2025, including a major LEGO Star Wars wave with everything from a new Ultimate Collector Series entry to a blue and grey MTT. Despite these and other major releases, the sets that are facing stock troubles online are surprising. They still feature some new LEGO Star Wars sets, just not the duo we were expecting to be popular this early.

In the UK and Europe, the selection of sets already on back order or out of stock entirely on the official online store includes 75430 Wicket the Ewok, 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder. Of the new LEGO Star Wars sets for August, these are the two we didn't necessarily expect to sell out.

75430 Wicket the Ewok seemed likely to follow in the footsteps of 75371 Chewbacca as a creepy but oddly cute LEGO caricature, yet its movie accuracy is a hit with LEGO Star Wars fans this month. It's even on back order in the US, and while there's no way to determine the original stock levels, being on back order worldwide is quite the achievement.

As mentioned in our review, 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder is based on the second season of Rebuild the Galaxy. Its source material and characters are unavoidably niche compared to the minifigures in the rest of the August 2025 LEGO Star Wars sets, but it is already on back order in the UK. It's likely not quite as popular as 75430 Wicket the Ewok, but it's a good start ahead of Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past's release on September 19.

The out-of-stock builds in the UK and Europe include 31173 Tropical Toucan, 40822 Jack-O'-Lantern Pickup Truck and 77237 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Sports Car, and the latter isn't the only new LEGO Speed Champions set to face stock trouble this soon after its release. 40825 Halloween Wreath is also on back order worldwide, which is surprising in some regions more than others.

Over in the US, the only new LEGO Wednesday set for 2025 so far is on back order, as is 31167 Haunted Mansion. When combined with the current stock status of 40825 Halloween Wreath, the US LEGO community is apparently excited for Halloween and all things spooky.

These are all on top of the surge in popularity for the LEGO One Piece sets worldwide, shortly after their launch on August 1. When you consider that August 1 saw the launch of a new LEGO Star Wars Republic Juggernaut and MTT, this selection of sets on back-order or out of stock is surprising.
