US retailer Walmart appears to be selling two upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets early in at least one store, promoted as exclusive items.
Multiple new LEGO Star Wars sets will be releasing on May 1, ranging from a microscale build and a BrickHeadz five-pack to a ship from The Mandalorian and two Return of the Jedi 40th anniversary dioramas. On that specific date fans will be able to get their hands on 40623 Battle of Endor Heroes, 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter,
It now appears though that at least one Walmart store in the US has been putting a couple of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets on sale a few weeks too early (possibly in error). Walmart’s first Collector Con event for 2023 took place from March 16 to March 17 and both 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter and 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer were revealed as exclusive items available for pre-order from the retailer's dedicated landing page for the event.
Both models are already available for pre-order from LEGO.com, so that doesn’t seem anything special in and of itself. However, Instagram user mikola_lego-stuf recently posted images of an unnamed Walmart store that seems to be displaying a number of LEGO Star Wars models, including the two upcoming builds, with 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer promoted as an exclusive set.
Pre-orders for 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer have already sold out on the official online store in the US, but are still available on Walmart’s site. It’s not yet known if it was just the one store that broke the street date early, but the unique display promoting the upcoming microscale ship certainly raises the question as to what exactly constitutes an ‘exclusive,’ at least in this case.
