Padmé Amidala’s wardrobe has been continually underserved by the LEGO Group, but you can add another costume to your collection with the new Marvel Collectible Minifigures.
The latest Padmé Amidala minifigure to join the LEGO Star Wars line-up has just hit shelves in 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship, revisiting a Clone Wars costume we’ve seen once before. And while her face print could use a little more love, the real miss in this minifigure is passing up the opportunity to expand the Naboo senator’s LEGO wardrobe, to better mirror an on-screen outfit selection so extensive that it has its own Wookieepedia page.
To date, we’ve had just three different Padmé costume variants: her red-jacketed Clone Wars outfit in 9515 The Malevolence and 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship; her Geonosis Arena gear in 75021 Republic Gunship; and her peasant dress disguise across three different The Phantom Menace sets (most recently
That’s because Agatha Harkness’s dress is almost a perfect match for the beaded indigo gown Padmé wears while visiting Supreme Chancellor Palpatine’s office in Attack of the Clones, following her assassination attempt by Zam Wesell. Reddit user Brisanzbremse made the connection over on the r/legostarwars subreddit, and it’s surprising just how close the new minifigure torso and dress piece are to Padmé’s outfit.

It’s not exactly one-to-one, as you’d imagine for a design created for other purposes – Agatha’s dress doesn’t feel quite as neat as Padmé’s elegant gown – but you need to look pretty closely to spot the differences. To the untrained eye, this is an almost perfect for a purist solution for the beaded indigo gown. And given the general infrequency with which we receive new Padmé minifigures, it’s probably your best bet for a good while.
Bonus: now you have something to do with those extra Agatha Harkness minifigures you’re inevitably going to end up with thanks to the blind-boxed packaging of 71039 Marvel Series 2, and you can now even justify army-building with 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship to get an extra Padmé head. You can buy the more-accurate 2013 head if you prefer, but it’s not cheap. The hairpiece is at least much more affordable…
75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship and 71039 Marvel Series 2 are both available now.
