Expand your LEGO Star Wars display by turning your brick-built helmets into full-size display figures with these custom builds.
The LEGO Star Wars helmet collection is a staple of many displays from a galaxy far, far away, recreating some of the most popular characters from the Star Wars universe. While they work perfectly well as display models all of their own, one creative builder has expanded them into larger builds.
Going by the username Albo.Lego on Rebrickable, the custom builder has dozens of creations, many of which scale up helmets to roughly the same scale as the growing number of up-scaled minifigures released by the LEGO Group, like 40649 Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure, 40819 Up-Scaled Racing Driver Minifigure, and the soon-to-be-released 40820 Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure.
Each set of instructions costs between €6.50 and €8.50 (around £5.60 / $7.60 and £7.30 / $10), as well as buying any of the parts you don't already have to expand on the helmet build. You can work out the rough cost of this on Rebrickable by building a quick inventory list on the site.
Each one typically requires somewhere between 1,800 and 2,300 extra parts to create the bodies of the characters, translating even the more complex details like Vader's breathing apparatus and Din Djarin's armour and accessories into brick-built parts. Like the official up-scaled minifigures, they're built like oversized LEGO characters, completely with minifigure hands and blocky limbs.
If you're not a Star Wars fan, or don't own any of the helmets above, Albo.Lego has also turned their hand to Marvel-themed builds, like the adaptation of 76285 Spider-Man's Mask, pictured below.
