LEGO Star Wars designers can’t decide how to design a Droideka

The next issue of the LEGO Star Wars magazine has debuted another design for a LEGO Droideka, but one that should look familiar.

While we're waiting for Din Djarin in the next issue of the LEGO Star Wars Magazine in the UK, Promobricks in Germany have discovered that the region's September issue of the magazine will be a Droideka figure using 30 pieces. When this build will arrive in other regions is not confirmed, as the magazine is no longer synced with the same models.

The magazine's Droideka build is the same as that 75381 Droideka, but with the colours of the slope and bar hinge piece inverted, and with a round transparent plate, instead of a square transparent plate. The two-stud plate that the round or square plate is attached to is also now coloured light grey instead of the darker shade.

These changes don't affect the design of the LEGO Droideka, but demonstrate how the LEGO Star Wars team can't decide on how the droid should look. The figures in 75381 Droideka and the magazine are just the latest forms of the LEGO Droideka, which has experimented with all kinds of pieces over the years to best replicate its unique appearance.

Those who want to build up an army of the latest LEGO Droideka design will want to keep their eyes peeled for future issues of the LEGO Star Wars magazine in Europe. Otherwise, the figure is only available in 75381 Droideka. The 583-piece set is out now for £59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99 and you can read our review by clicking here.
