LEGO Star Wars 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV is a bit late

LEGO Star Wars 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV finally offers a model of the iconic scene from the franchise, but a few projects beat it to the punch.

Ever since the release of 75324 Dark Trooper Attack in 2022, the online LEGO community has been eagerly recreating other iconic corridor scenes from Star Wars history, including one of the first scenes from the franchise to ever be seen on screen.

Darth Vader's boarding of the Tantive IV from A New Hope is finally receiving a dedicated LEGO set – 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV as revealed by Amazon Mexico. While it's exciting to be getting an official depiction of the scene at long last, it's been beaten to the punch by unofficial and official LEGO projects alike.

Various enthusiasts online have offered their brick-built take on this scene inspired by 75324 Dark Trooper Attack and it's surprising to see just how close they are to the official LEGO set. In particular, Flaherty8's iteration is nearly the same length and has the doors in the same places.

Whether the LEGO Star Wars design team have been inspired by these fan-designed models remains unknown, but it's not just unofficial brick-built Tantive IV hallway creations that have covered the corridor before the set.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's first level for A New Hope features an entirely LEGO Tantive IV interior but at a much larger scale than 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV.

Despite how long it has taken for a LEGO Tantive IV boarding scene set, and how many other official and non-official models have approached the concept first, it's finally time to pick up a set based on the legendary scene for the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars.

Featuring 502 pieces and seven minifigures, 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV is rumoured to cost £49.99 / $54.99 / €54.99 and release on March 1, 2024. You can take a closer look at the set by clicking here.
