LEGO Star Wars UCS 75341 Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder officially revealed

It’s official: an Ultimate Collector Series LEGO Star Wars Luke’s Landspeeder is genuinely happening, and it’s right around the corner.

The X-34 Landspeeder is up there with the X-wing Starfighter, TIE Fighter and Snowspeeder for the LEGO Star Wars team’s favourite (and most-revisited) vehicles, and given how many versions we’ve already had at minifigure scale, mini and microscale, it seemed like only a matter of time until a UCS iteration dropped. The only real surprise here is that it took 23 years.

75341 Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder rebuilds the Episode IV icon with 1,890 pieces, with the final model coming in at a whopping 50cm long, 30cm wide and 17cm tall. That size has obviously required a dedicated cockpit element, like many UCS sets before it, and the entire model rests on a display stand with the customary plaque.

“It’s been an amazing adventure creating Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder in LEGO brick form,” said designer César Carvalhosa Soares. “It is such an iconic vehicle in the Star Wars saga. We’ve ensured no detail has been forgotten and have even included some of the scratches. The finished product makes an incredible display and is the perfect addition to the UCS collection.”

The set also follows in the footsteps of previous UCS titans like 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer and 75309 Republic Gunship by including a couple of minifigures, here taking the form of Luke Skywalker and C-3PO. The protocol droid has finally been perfected in 75341 Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder, taking advantage of dual-moulding to recreate his single silver leg.

As has long been rumoured, 75341 Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder is this year’s May the Fourth model, and will subsequently launch exclusively for VIP members on May 1, when this year’s deals and freebies begin, for £174.99 / $199.99 / €199.99. It’ll then be available for everyone from May 4, provided initial stock levels haven’t already been completely depleted by then.
