It’s time to talk juicy LEGO Star Wars 2024 rumours – and the latest reports suggest we’re diving into wonderfully obscure territory for the theme’s 25th anniversary…
As we rocket towards the end of 2023 (somehow, don’t ask us where the year went), the first word on what to expect from the LEGO Group next year is starting to come thick and fast. And the potential for the LEGO Star Wars theme in 2024 is almost unlimited, given it will mark not only the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace, but also 25 years since the very first LEGO sets from a galaxy far, far away arrived on shelves.
For the theme’s 20th anniversary in 2019, the LEGO Group celebrated with a special wave of sets, each including a retro minifigure resurrected and inserted seemingly at random (remember when Darth Vader turned up at the Battle of Kashyyyk? Or when Lando hopped in a Snowspeeder to take down an AT-AT? Us neither). Five years later, something similar – but much wilder – is apparently on the cards.
That’s according to the latest LEGO Star Wars rumours for 2024, which suggest the theme will be heading into the obscure wilderness of the Star Wars universe for its 25th anniversary celebrations. So what exactly should we expect from the theme next year? And what does it mean for the wider LEGO Star Wars range? These are questions we’ve tackled in our latest YouTube video.
