With a new month coming up, we've cut through the noise of the new LEGO releases to bring you what you really need to know before buying.
We've already broken down every new LEGO release coming to shelves in September, with the vast majority coming on September 1 and some other major releases dotted throughout the month. Between advent calendars, buildable characters, and sprawling builds coming to both DC and Harry Potter, we've highlighted everything you need to know ahead of a new month of LEGO releases.
LEGO 2025 Advent Calendars

You might want to skip this section if you’re hoping to avoid spoilers for any of the 2025 LEGO Advent calendars. This year’s six LEGO advent calendars add one new theme to the collection as Marvel moves out. There’s a festive option for LEGO Star Wars, City, Friends, Disney, Harry Potter and Minecraft, making up a diverse collection of builds with something for everyone.
The new advent calendars are priced between £19.99 / $26.99 / €34.99 to £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99, each including a series of builds and minifigures relevant to a collection of themes or concepts. There are plenty of exclusive parts and minifigures to collect between them, as well. Get ready for Christmas with the six new LEGO Advent calendars out next month.
[On LEGO Star Wars 75418 2025 Advent Calendar] "Honestly this is what I prefer out of an advent calendar. Everything is themed to go together and makes a fun little scene, in this case a droid workshop.”
S1MP0N_92 on Reddit
First impressions of the six LEGO Advent calendars are as varied as the calendars themselves, with many impressed by the exclusive offerings, while others are disappointed with the overarching theme of some themes’ sets.
[On LEGO Harry Potter 76456 2025 Advent Calendar] "Such a weird direction to take the Harry Potter one this year. EIght minifigures with generic sweaters, plus 16 ‘cute’ but also lazy versions of creatures is wild.”

| Pros of LEGO 2025 Advent Calendars | Cons of LEGO 2025 Advent Calendars |
|---|---|
| A first for LEGO Minecraft | Odd direction for LEGO Harry Potter |
| Exclusive parts and minifigures | Nothing for Marvel |

Our verdict: If you're keen for a festive treat that won't break the bank, look no further.
LEGO Disney 43279 WALL-E and EVE

The latest LEGO take on WALL-E is the 811-piece 43279 WALL-E and EVE. It improves on the original LEGO Ideas set by downsizing WALL-E, but consequently includes both EVE and M-O.
At £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99, this trio of characters should be a great display for any Disney and Pixar fan, complete with Easter eggs to appreciate throughout. It’s also more affordable than other 18+ LEGO Disney sets, which will increase its appeal next month.
Fans have fallen in love with the new LEGO Disney Pixar 18+ set, pointing out its multiple characters and good price, despite a smaller size than the original LEGO Ideas set. It’s especially popular with anyone who missed out on that original model and wasn’t satisfied with the BrickHeadz.
"As someone who missed out on the first Wall E set, this is a very good compromise, I’ll be getting it for sure. A bit smaller than I hoped, but the details look great, and the price is good.”

| Pros of 43279 WALL-E and EVE | Cons of 43279 WALL-E and EVE |
|---|---|
| Three robots for the price of one | Smaller than some might have hoped for |
| Packed full of Easter eggs | |
| An affordable 18+ Disney set |
Our verdict: For WALL-E fans, it's hard to see any downsides in 43279 WALL-E and EVE.
LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum

The latest huge LEGO DC model is 76300 Arkham Asylum, with 12 minifigures and nearly 3,000 pieces. It’s launching on September 9 for £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99 and has 24 bags, in case you want to use this as the biggest LEGO Advent calendar ever.
The exterior of 76300 Arkham Asylum is designed to be compatible with the modular buildings collection, either as a corner or our first-ever inverted corner. There’s a van for transporting patients, too. Inside 76300 Arkham Asylum, there are cells for many of the included minifigures and dozens of Easter eggs to appreciate.
Early reactions to Arkham Asylum have been mixed, with some immediately excited about the idea of another big Batman build, while others are confused at why this is a modular-compatible model in the first place. That didn’t stop some from theorising where it’s going to go best in their superhero-rampant modular city.
"Arkham is going to work so well with the Sanctum Sanctorum. They’re the exact same height and the sanctum’s alleyway can provide space for Arkham’s gate and accommodate the connection points of Arkham’s West wing.”

| Pros of 76300 Arkham Asylum | Cons of 76300 Arkham Asylum |
|---|---|
| A large-scale Batman build | Confusingly modular |
| Some minifigure firsts | Frustrating that minifigures are in jumpsuits |
| Dozens of Easter eggs for DC fans |
Our verdict: Starved DC fans will be sure to want to pick this up day-one, but you might also want to keep an eye out for mods to de-modular it.
LEGO Harry Potter 76457 Hogsmeade Village Collectors’ Edition

The LEGO Group continues to tick off Harry Potter icons with its latest flagship set, 76457 Hogsmeade Village Collectors’ Edition. Fashioned in the same way as the outgoing 75978 Diagon Alley, this sprawling 3,228-piece take on the magical village presents its buildings across a series of 16x32 baseplates, which can be rearranged and reconfigured in any way you please.
Early reviews champion the build process in particular, but there are two areas in which Hogsmeade falters: its minifigures, of which there are really too few to set your Wizarding World collection alight, and the price, which feels incredibly steep for what you get – especially with one eye on Diagon Alley, which costs only £40 more and includes an extra 2,300 pieces.
“I think this is a beautiful set – really well-made, I love the shops, all the angles and everything here. It’s an incredible build that I cannot recommend enough. The price, however – for the minifigure selection and actual quality of them – is extremely disappointing. I think there needed to be more for the price that they’re asking. That is not to say that this is not an incredible build, I don’t want to take away from that at all because I really love this.”
AshnFlash
LEGO Harry Potter’s buildings have traditionally shied away from the full-enclosed approach of modular buildings in themes such as Marvel and NINJAGO, opting for open backs instead, and that’s no different here. There are advantages and disadvantages to both design styles, though, as Emmasaurus acknowledges (while also talking up the build).
“The interiors are all open, I kind of like when it’s fully-enclosed buildings, which this is not – it’s more like a dollhouse, but I like being able to see all the references, so that’s pretty cool. Overall this is a really fun build.”
Emmasaurus
| Pros of 76457 Hogsmeade Village Collectors’ Edition | Cons of 76457 Hogsmeade Village Collectors’ Edition |
|---|---|
| The biggest and most complete Hogsmeade to date | Relatively small number of minifigures |
| A handful of exclusive minifigure variants | Extraordinarily high price relative to other Harry Potter sets |
| Magical build experience packed with details |
Our verdict: Grab it day one if you want the gift-with-purchase, but otherwise best to wait for a discount or at least double points.
LEGO CMF 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

The latest blind-boxed Minifigures series is a love letter to Spidey fans, and in particular anyone enamoured with Sony’s animated Spider-Verse movies. It’s not especially timely, mind, but two years after its tie-in movie comes 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, complete with 12 of the most detailed LEGO Spider-Man minifigures we’ve ever seen.
Early reviews from those who’ve found these minifigures in the wild highlight characters including Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy and Miguel O’Hara, alongside deeper cuts like Spider-Punk, Web-Slinger and Werewolf Spider-Man. Like all series hooked to a particular subject or theme, it’s one that will appeal first and foremost to franchise fans, but there’s a lot to love here for anyone who’s ever pretended to shoot a web from their wrist.
“Some might even say this would fall under their top five or even top three of all Collectible Minifigures… I have to admit that the parts utilised, prints made, and characters chosen have caused this to skyrocket to the top for me! The only thing bringing it down is that we easily could have gotten 16 or 18+ minifigures in this series.”
CPAFol
It’s not just the particular character selection that has caught the eye here, though – it’s also the specific execution of those characters, which (true to Minifigures form) takes full advantage of what’s possible with modern LEGO minifigures.
“Fantastic wave, I really think these guys are a lot of fun. If you’re a Spider-Man fan at all, I think you’re definitely going to want to check these out. It always boggles my mind what they can do with these Collectible Minifigures waves in terms of dual-moulded legs, dual-moulded arms, the amount of printing – they really go all out, and I think all of these are fantastic additions to your LEGO Marvel collection.”
Long's Bricks
| Pros of 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse | Cons of 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse |
|---|---|
| 12 incredibly detailed minifigures | Some obvious gaps in the character selection |
| New parts, prints and moulds abound | Just 12 minifigures feels limiting for a series like this |
| Several new pieces have utility beyond Spider-Man |
Our verdict: Spider-Verse fans should be turning out day one to grab a complete collection of these minifigures as soon as possible.
LEGO Disney 43277 Cruella De Vil’s Car

LEGO Disney fans have been rewarded with a couple of sets based on 101 Dalmatians this year, but the theme’s next offering will deliver something slightly different. This time, the emphasis will be on the villain of the classic 1961 animated movie, in the sinister shape of 43277 Cruella De Vil’s Car.
Priced at £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99, the 378-piece model includes a brick-built version of the red and black vehicle, complete with opening doors, removable roof and steering via the spare wheel on the back. The LEGO Disney sets is rounded out with a Cruella De Vil minifigure (instead of a mini-doll) and dalmatian puppy figure to complete the set.
“I will probably buy it, but I'm not too happy about the overwhelming size. I was hoping for six to eight wide, so I could easily match Jasper's & Horace's van that I made. This ten wide monstrosity is going to look silly next to the 14-studs long, 6-studs wide van!”

| Pros of 43277 Cruella De Vil’s Car | Cons of 43277 Cruella De Vil’s Car |
|---|---|
| First-ever version of the villain’s vehicle | A little pricey for what’s on offer |
| Some basic play features | Scale may not fit with other LEGO vehicles |
| Impressive Art Deco styling | Only one Dalmatian puppy figure included |
Our verdict: A stylish ride for sure, but LEGO Disney fans might want to wait for the set to be discounted before adding it to their collections.
LEGO Nike 43010 Nike Slam Dunk / 43021 Nike Dunk Trickshot

The LEGO Group and Nike’s multi-year partnership continues next month, with two more sets dropping on September 1, although they may not suit everyone’s tastes. 43010 Nike Slam Dunk is the most distinctive of the two, allowing builders to assemble an 809-piece poseable basketball figure plus hoop, scoreboard, championship banners and spectators, with plenty of customisation options, all for £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99.
43021 Nike Dunk Trickshot delivers the second brick-built Nike sneaker to date, with a 454-piece blocky low-top version of the red and white footwear. The model also adds some basic functionality for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99, allowing the included minifigure to dunk a basketball into the graffiti art base’s hoop.
“The saddest thing is that this isn't even close to the most hideous LEGO sets out there, but it certainly takes the crown for 2025. Could have at least use the smoother hemisphere elements from the Gumball machine…”

| Pros of 43010 Nike Slam Dunk / 43021 Nike Dunk Trickshot | Cons of 43010 Nike Slam Dunk / 43021 Nike Dunk Trickshot |
|---|---|
| Two unique designs | Non-Nike fans will probably give these a pass |
| A pair of affordable display models | Some builders may want the sets just for spare parts |
| Customisation options are a nice touch | More display than play builds |
Our verdict: The LEGO x Nike partnership continues to innovate, with two new stylised sets offering affordable display models, although they may not appeal to all.
LEGO Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Based on the 1971 live-action Gene Wilder movie, 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is the 68 th addition to the LEGO Ideas line-up and a candy-coloured treat to boot. Comprised of 2,025 pieces and priced at £199.99 / $219.99 / €219.99, the satisfyingly scrumdiddilyumptious 18+ set is every bit as tantalising to build as it is to look at when on display.
21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory features a hand-cranked chocolate waterfall, the S.S. Wonkatania boat, Willy Wonka’s hidden half-office, a bewildering array of brick-built confectionery, multiple secrets to uncover, plus an impressive selection of nine minifigures and should prove to be a hit with fans of the original film.
“It’s a fabulously colourful set, and the use of elements to help recreate Wonka’s magical factory is amazing. The minifigures are a decent representation of the film characters, although some could have been a little better. Overall, this is another great addition to the most varied and inventive LEGO themes.”
BricksFanz
| Pros of 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory | Cons of 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory |
|---|---|
| Chocolate waterfall is a fun feature | Some fiddly elements to assemble later on |
| Bursting with colour and secrets | Instruction manual is not always that clear |
| Minifigure selection is the icing on the cake | Dual-moulded legs missing from some minifigures |
Our verdict: LEGO builders can live out their dreams with a dandy candy-coloured LEGO Ideas set that successfully honours its original source material.
LEGO Wicked 75685 Emerald City Wall Art

The Wizard of Oz never looked so good than in 75685 Emerald City Wall Art, an homage to both Wicked and the original Wizard of Oz. It features detailed minifigures and a vibrant colour scheme that instantly attracts attention, whether you choose to hang it on the wall or leave it propped up.
It doesn't come cheap, but it's also not wildly more than some LEGO art sets, despite the Wicked license necessary. All in all, for its target demographic who are fans of the wonderful story of Wicker, this LEGO Art set feels like a no-brainer.
"The new Wicked Emerald City Wall Art set is gorgeous. Great build, awesome figures and a beautiful display piece. You won’t regret picking it up. I have no notes. I may swap the Lion and Scarecrow figures with the versions that came out in 2019, but that’s just personal preference."

| Pros of 75685 Emerald City Wall Art | Cons of 75685 Emerald City Wall Art |
|---|---|
| Long-awaited minifigure updates | Slightly overpriced |
| Creative use of colour | |
| Looks excellent on display |
Our verdict: A slam dunk for the market it's indended for and a mature display piece for LEOG Wicked fans at last.
