The LEGO Group is giving away an incredibly rare minifigure – valued at over $30,000 – to one lucky VIP member at Star Wars Celebration 2023.

One of just five platinum R2-D2s ever created by the LEGO Group, the example up for grabs at Star Wars Celebration 2023 is specifically numbered ‘3 of 5 produced’. Two more were given away back at the end of 2017, to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and at the time the LEGO Group valued them at £2,500 each.
According to Minifigure Price Guide, however, the platinum R2-D2 minifigure’s aftermarket value is actually a mind-blowing $33,440.95 (roughly £27,000). That’s your Celebration trip paid for… the rest of your life? And then some. If you want to be in with a chance of winning the super-rare character, you’ll need to head to the LEGO booth at Star Wars Celebration 2023 and request a unique code.
You’ll then be able to enter that code at the VIP Rewards Centre to get your name in the hat. Entries are limited to one per person, and you’ve got until April 17 at 11.59pm UK time to submit your code. This competition is exclusive to Star Wars Celebration, so you won’t find it in the usual way in the VIP Rewards Centre.
