The LEGO Group has pulled forward the retiring dates of a dozen or more LEGO 2025 and 2026 sets, including two The Lord of the Rings releases, Tropical Aquarium and Trevi Fountain.
All these sets were previously scheduled to retire either by the end of 2027 or the end of 2028, but will now leave shelves midway through 2027 (or in a couple of cases, at the end of 2026). That’s anywhere from five to 17 months shaved off their production runs, suggesting that the LEGO Group is now forecasting lower sales than initially anticipated for these builds.
Those with the most dramatic drop-off (coming forward from December 2028 to July 2027) include 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire, 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook, 10361 Holiday Express Train, 21062 Trevi Fountain and 10366 Tropical Aquarium. You’ve still got at least 18 months to pick up these sets, but for many of them that’s half the time you originally had… so some reorganising of the wishlist may be required as a result.
