The LEGO October 2024 sets are bringing some exciting new elements with them

Dozens of new LEGO October 2024 sets (and three themes) are about to debut, and they’re bringing some useful and exciting elements with them.

The likes of LEGO Fortnite, Wicked, Wednesday and more familiar new LEGO models are launching on October 1. While they have some interesting minifigures and mini-dolls with their own enticing elements, there are plenty of other pieces debuting entirely or in brand-new colours to look out for too.

Here are some of the best recolours and new elements in the October 2024 sets, not including new minifigure pieces.

A suitably spooky gargoyle

76781 Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room is arguably the more enticing LEGO Wednesday set, recreating the home away from home for Wednesday and Enid, complete with the split printed web window in the middle. In front of that window though are a group of gargoyles that, in an uncommon move for the LEGO Group, aren’t brick-built or minifigures.

Instead, the hunched sculptures use a new piece that will surely find a lot of use in gothic and Medieval custom creations. It’s one of the most exciting but specific new elements in the October 2024 sets, not only because it's just in time for Halloween.

An oddly specific hand

Similarly specific, but with some potential usage outside of LEGO Wednesday is the hand element used to represent Thing in 76781 Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room and 76780 Wednesday Addams Figure

The hand’s gap isn’t wide enough to hold any piece securely, but an anti-stud is featured on the underside and the end of the element is a bar to fit with corresponding LEGO elements. In this sense, it could be used as the opposite of the 65578 bar and angled stud part, though it might need to be recoloured without Thing’s printed details first.

Natural ninja stars and bunting

10370 Poinsettia is one of two new LEGO Botanical sets launching in a few days and the smaller of the two builds is home to two interesting recolours for custom creations of all kinds.

LEGO NINJAGO’s six-pointed star element is usually used for mechs, but it debuts in October 2024 in dark red and green. LEGO Friends’ new bunting element is coming in red for the first time in this set too and it’s sure to be useful for Castle projects.

Recoloured and new flora

LEGO Wicked has some floral elements being recoloured or debuting entirely in the October 2024 sets too. These include a transparent green leaf in 75682 Elphaba & Glinda Figures and 75684 Welcome to Emerald City. It has a distinctly whimsical appearance that could be reused in futuristic storefront facades, spells or crystal caverns.

A new flower element is arriving in 75683 Glinda & Elphaba's Dormitory, resembling a rose, and it will return in 2025 in LEGO Animal Crossing. These likely won’t be the last times we see this new piece and we can imagine it being used as a lampshade in the next rumoured modular building too.

Batmobile windshield

The massive 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile is debuting a new kind of LEGO windshield, four of which are featured in the October 2024 set.

This new element could have been moulded in pairs, attaching the two bubble-like shapes together for the classic Batmobile. By not doing so, this piece is much more versatile and could find some use as part of a huge Jedi Starfighter build in the future, as well as other spaceships.
