LEGO Super Mario 72046 Game Boy has been officially revealed, recreating the iconic Nintendo handheld in LEGO bricks.
Just in time for San Diego Comic Con, a near 1:1 scale brick-built replica of the original Game Boy handheld from Nintendo has been revealed: 72046 Game Boy. The 421-piece will launch on October 1, retailing for £54.99 in the UK, $59.99 in the US, and €59.99 in Europe.
It features +Control Pad, A and B Buttons, and SELECT and START ones that you can press just like on the real handheld. Thanks to the scale, virtually every other authentic external feature from the original Game Boy has also been rendered out of LEGO, such as the contrast adjustment and volume dial and the Game Pak slot.
To fit into those slots, you can also customise your display with interchangeable, brick-built Game Paks of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening or Super Mario Land Game Boy. Each one has corresponding lenticular screens, as well as the more neutral Nintendo start screen, as if the handheld is in use. The LEGO set also comes with a buildable stand for easy display.
