LEGO NINJAGO 71841 Dragonian Storm Village confirms return of major villain

A new LEGO NINJAGO January 2025 set reveal has confirmed that a major villain will be back next season with huge lore implications.

After the reveal of most LEGO NINJAGO January 2025 sets earlier today, Smyths Toys in the UK has revealed one more in the form of 71841 Dragonian Storm Village. This 305-piece set will retail for £34.99 and include six minifigures, two of which are currently exclusive to the set.

As well as Rogue (who appears to be Jay after he lost his memory following the Merge), Morro is officially back in NINJAGO after his defeat in Possession and a brief return in the Day of the Departed special.

The rest of the set consists of a small battle arena, likely located in the Dragonian Storm Village, Nya, Zane and two Dragonian figures using new elements. Morro is a ghost that was located in the Cursed Realm until it was destroyed with the defeat of the Preeminent. This creature is the physical embodiment of the Cursed Realm and their destruction led to the fall of Djinnjago. The Preeminent would then return in a later season after being pulled from another realm.

This combined with the sudden return of Morro indicates that the Cursed Realm has not been destroyed after all and its status following the Merge has yet to be confirmed. It would appear that we'll be getting answers next year though. Morro's allegiance in the set is not clear. In the series, it would stand to reason that he would support the ninja after being redeemed previously but that is by no means confirmed.

Either way, this has undoubtedly become one of the most exciting LEGO NINJAGO 2025 sets for enthusiasts of the theme and joins a lengthy list of sets releasing on January 1, 2025.
