A trio of key mutant minifigures are conspicuously absent from the upcoming LEGO Marvel 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion.
The LEGO Group this week finally revealed 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion, a 3,093-piece Marvel set based on the iconic location from both the 90’s animated series and more recent X-Men ’97. The comic book build launches for LEGO Insiders on November 1 priced at £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99, with a wider release on November 4.
76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion is packed with plenty of play features, a brick-built Sentinel and multiple references to both the show and comic book lore. In addition, the LEGO Marvel set also comes with an impressive line-up of 10 minifigures, but a trio of key mutant characters are missing.
Fans picking up 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion next month may be a little disappointed to discover there’s no sign of Beast, Jubilee or Morph, three team members that are mainstays in the series.
Hank McCoy’s furry blue Beast does appear on a video screen in 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion though and can easily be added by hunting down the minifigure from 71039 Marvel Series 2. Fellow mutant Jubilee gets a couple of visual nods in the LEGO Marvel set too and also appears on a screen in the free 5009015 Cerebro GWP.
However, we’ve yet to see a physical minifigure of Jubilee so far or her shapeshifting teammate, Morph. Both characters appeared in the very first season of the X-Men animated series and are still present and correct in X-Men ’97.
The lack of all three minifigures in 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion may prove even more frustrating for some fans, as both Bishop and Iceman are included with the LEGO Marvel model yet were only added to the team in Season 11 of the show.
76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion will be available exclusively for LEGO Insiders from November 1 priced at £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99, with everyone else getting a shot at the LEGO Marvel set on November 4. All purchases of the LEGO X-Men model until November 7 will include a free 5009015 Cerebro GWP, while stocks last.
