The latest addition to the LEGO Ideas 10K club is Wallace & Gromit – A Grand Day Out, based on the beloved Aardman Animation characters.
The second LEGO Ideas review of 2024 recently kicked off, with the qualifying period for this stage due to run until September 2. The first lucky submission to hit the 10K mark earlier this week was Claw Machine, which has now been joined by a second fan-designed project.
Wallace & Gromit – A Grand Day Out is the creation of Vaicko and is based on the characters’ first appearance in the award-winning Aardman Animation stop-motion short from 1989. The beloved plasticine duo have been recreated in brick-built form as part of a 1,040-piece set that’s hoping to become a physical LEGO model at some point in the future.
The Wallace & Gromit – A Grand Day Out build consists of an orange rocket ship, complete with detailed cockpit, a small picnic diorama with plenty of accessories and a cheese mountain, Wallace and Gromit minifigures and Cooker the robot.
Wallace & Gromit – A Grand Day Out’s rocket includes a cabin with references to the duo’s next adventures, two printed exterior windows that can be swapped out and additional printed elements are included outside of the tangerine ship.
We’ll have to wait until later this year to find out the results of the second LEGO Ideas review of 2024 and if Wallace & Gromit – A Grand Day Out ultimately manages to stick the landing.
