The fan vote phase of the LEGO Ideas A Night to Remember in the Shire challenge is now open, with five Middle-earth models in the running.
The LEGO Ideas blog launched a Hobbit-themed challenge earlier this summer, with A Night to Remember in the Shire tasking fan builders with creating a celebratory model based on the iconic Middle-earth location.
That call to arms was answered by an impressive line-up of 234 submissions, from which five precious creations have been chosen by the LEGO Ideas team. Now it’s the turn of fans to vote right here for which of those designs they think deserves to win a selection of must-have prizes.

The first model to be selected from the A Night to Remember in the Shire submissions is Aragorn’s Birthday by Gummybrickss. The colourful set features a brick-built cake version of Minas Tirith, fireworks, great eagles and multiple minifigures.

Up next is Birthday With Old Friends by Brickcar13, an innovative model that has been built to resemble a pop-up book. The LEGO Ideas creation includes a calligraphy title, bookmark and One Ring backdrop, plus a packed party within.

The Grey Wizard’s Grand Birthday Display has been assembled by JinyuDesign and features a huge pyrotechnic display topped off with a massive great eagle. Also on display is Bilbo’s house, a stone bridge and a number of familiar minifigure characters.

Then there’s A Feast in the Shire by Superstofbricks, a model packed with plenty of deep-cut references for The Lord of the Rings fans to spot. As well as hungry hobbits and Gandalf’s cart full of fireworks, there’s a Sauron piñata just waiting to be bashed.

Finally, the LEGO Ideas challenge welcomes Bilbo’s 111th Birthday Extravaganza by Yayael. This enormous build comes with all kinds of hidden Easter eggs, plus Gandalf’s firework dragon and a large selection of minifigure guests.
The Grand Prize winner of the Middle-earth contest will walk away with 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire and 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook, all signed by their respective designers.

Two Runners-Up of the challenge will each receive 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire and 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook, while the two remaining finalists get a copy of the latter LEGO Icons set.
The A Night to Remember in the Shire fan vote will run until September 10, so be sure to make your selection by that date, with final winners to be revealed by the LEGO Ideas team on September 22.
