Although no official release date has been set for the upcoming LEGO Ideas Godzilla so far, 2027 might be the perfect year to launch the Monsterverse model.
The results of the third LEGO Ideas 2024 review were revealed yesterday, with a pair of fan-made designs being selected as future physical sets. Both Tkel86’s Tintin – Space Rocket and MattE720’s Godzilla made the grade, after each managed to hit the magic 10K supporter’s mark.
Now fans of the two franchises will have to wait until a release date and more details become available for the LEGO Ideas builds, although one potential launch window for Godzilla could be early 2027.

If the LEGO Ideas set arrived in the first quarter of that year, it would neatly coincide with Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment’s next Monsterverse movie, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, due to land in cinemas on March 26, 2027.
A first teaser trailer for the film has already been released, although the initial footage doesn’t even show the two titans in action or give any hints as to what the plot of the upcoming slugfest might entail.
Fan theories regarding Godzilla x Kong: Supernova have suggested we might get to find out more about the gigantic, mutated lizard's past, witness the debut of SpaceGodzilla, see the introduction of the big G’s son or even the death of a major titan, although none of those ideas have been confirmed so far.
Regardless of whichever direction Godzilla x Kong: Supernova ultimately takes, fans of Toho's character will undoubtedly lap up the latest big screen spectacle, making a well-timed release of LEGO Ideas Godzilla around the movie’s arrival even more likely.
It typically takes around 12-18 months for a LEGO Ideas set to launch, after it’s successfully made it all the way through the approvals process. That usually includes time for development refinement and production, although the exact timeline can depend on a variety of factors.
Pushing LEGO Ideas Godzilla back even further to a Q1 2027 release date could be a risky gamble, but might be one that fans are willing to wait for in order to get their hands on the brick-built monster.
All of the above remains pure speculation for now though, so we’ll just have to wait for more news on LEGO Godzilla as and when full official details of the upcoming model are eventually released.
