The LEGO Ideas '90s challenge results have been delayed again, but this time they've been split up across the summer as well.
The LEGO Ideas team have confirmed on the platform that we're going to be waiting a lot longer to hear the results of the two '90s challenges, and which two IP-based sets will be coming from them. The results for these two challenges were originally intended to be announced on June 2, but this was delayed to June 12.
The team have now stated, via a similar banner, that the results have been delayed again, but not to the same date. The 1,000 to 5,000 pieces challenge's results will be coming first on June 25, while the smaller 200 to 1,000 pieces challenge's results are coming on August 13.
| The Opening Act (1,000-5,000 Pieces) | The Next Chapter (200-1,000 Pieces) | |
|---|---|---|
| Original results announcement date | June 2 | June 2 |
| Results date after the first delay | June 12 | June 12 |
| Results date after the second delay | June 25 | August 13 |
This will notably split the announcements for the first time in this journey. Considering that each announcement will unveil a new IP partnership, splitting them up makes more sense for an increased sense of fanfare, rather than risking one result overshadowing the other.
The official reasons for this delay and the new split announcements have not been confirmed. We can only hope that this is the last delay, but we'll let you know if this changes. Stay tuned for more LEGO Ideas news as it arrives, such as the recent rumours for projects based on The Goonies, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and more.
