Final LEGO Ideas 100th challenge competition winners revealed

The Grand Prize winners and Runners-Up for the 100th LEGO Ideas challenge have been revealed, with creators walking away with plenty of LEGO House goodies.

Earlier this year, the LEGO Ideas blog launched its 100th challenge for fan designers to sink their teeth into, with an impressive line-up of prizes on offer. The results of the contest ultimately lead to 75 lucky entries being selected, all of which will now be displayed in the LEGO House for at least 12 months.

Following a recent fan vote, the Grand Prize and Runners-Up selections have also now been chosen, revealing which of the LEGO Ideas builds came out on top in each of the three separate categories.

If It Runs on Rails was looking for vehicle-based builds, with redera00’s Embarking the Steam Railcar nailing the top spot with a retro-futurist model, while the Runner-Up in this category was Jperk13 with Mr Fox’s Handcar.

For 20,000 Bricks Under the Sea, the LEGO Ideas team was looking for creations emerging from the ocean depths. Snatching the top prize package was Captain vs Steampunk Sub by Delusion Brick, a deep-sea delight that features gold-plated brass and sand-green alloys, and the Runner-Up being Les_Briques_de_Loic with The Wonder Jellyfish.

Finally, the Grand Prize winner of the Under the Microscope category, based on zoomed in objects, was Inhabit-Ants by SJs Workshop, a detailed underground habitat filled with the busy insects, closely followed by IbalKhan’s Data Delivery as the Runner-Up.

All of the LEGO Ideas challenge Grand Prize winners will receive 40506 LEGO Fabuland Tribute, 40501 The Wooden Duck, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute and two LEGO House tickets, plus have their models on display in the LEGO House for a year. The Runner-Up in each category also gets 21037 LEGO House, 40506 LEGO Fabuland Tribute and two LEGO House tickets.
