The LEGO Group has officially revealed LEGO Icons 10358 Soundwave, the third Transformers set to join the LEGO Icons theme.
Transformers fans can finally build a Decepticon in LEGO bricks, with the impending arrival of 10358 Soundwave. Due for release on August 1, the 1,505-piece set is designed to scale with 10302 Optimus Prime and 10338 Bumblebee. It will retail for £159.99 in the UK, $189.99 in the US, and from €179.99 in Europe.
The brick-built Decepticon comes complete with brick-built versions of his companions, Ravage and Laserbeak. Like the other LEGO Icons Transformers builds, 10358 Soundwave can transform into another displayable model – but unlike 10302 Optimus Prime and 10338 Bumblebee, it transforms into a cassette player, rather than a vehicle.
In terms of playable features, 10358 Soundwave includes a sound brick, activated by pressing the play button to trigger specially recorded voice and sound effects. The figure also comes with a rocket pod, laser blaster and dart accessories, featuring posable joints. Ravage and Laserbeak figures can also transform into model cassette tapes that fit individually into Soundwave’s cassette bay. Primed for display, the set includes a display plaque with Soundwave’s power statistics.
LEGO Icons 10358 Soundwave will be available to buy in LEGO stores and online from August 1, retailing at £159.99 / $189.99 / €179.99.
