LEGO Icons Dune 10327 Ornithopter rumoured

LEGO Icons Dune 10327 Ornithopter rumoured

It turns out a LEGO Dune set might be on the horizon as LEGO Icons 10327 Ornithopter is now rumoured for later this year.

With the second part of Dune due to release on November 3, 2023, Promobricks reports that a set based on the sci-fi epic is coming that same month. The rumour is that 10327 Ornithopter will launch at some time in November for €164.99 with 1,327 pieces and feature four or five minifigures.

Dune is a science fiction movie franchise based on the Frank Herbert 1965 novel of the same title. The first part of the latest cinematic iteration of Dune released in October 2021. Ornithopters are a common method of transportation in Dune and resemble a dragonfly. Lo_d_rocket-12 on Rebrickable has already imagined how the vehicle could look brick-built before this report surfaced.

Much like the unusual rumour for LEGO Transformers that eventually turned out to be true, with 10302 Optimus Prime now available, Dune is a franchise that the LEGO Group has never touched and it may not be something most ever considered for a LEGO Icons set. However, the theme is home to the likes of The Lord of the Rings and Transformers.

Even the source cautions that this is only a rumour, so it might be wise to take it with an extra large pinch of salt just in case anything rumoured turns out to be false. Provided this rumour is accurate, there may not be too long to wait until an announcement - the source believes October may be a possible time for its reveal.
