LEGO Hidden Side's app has been officially discontinued

It's the end of an era for one of the LEGO Group's most recent original themes as Hidden Side's app has been officially discontinued.

As promised in 2022, the LEGO Hidden Side app has been officially discontinued at the start of 2023, ending support for the app, shutting the multiplayer servers and effectively removing every major function of the software. The app is also no longer listed on the various app stores.

This final farewell to the theme didn't come without warning, but for those who enjoy the LEGO Group's themes not based on intellectual property, it's the end of an era as this was the last remaining piece of the supernatural product line. 

LEGO Hidden Side was based on the adventures of Parker and Jack as they defend their world from an invasion of ghouls who aim to haunt their world. As well as physical sets with app integration, an animated series for the theme was also released over the course of its life. 

The now-retired models had play features and functions like any other LEGO set, but could be scanned through the app to unlock levels and areas and expand the gameplay through the use of augmented reality. 

Without the app, those with the sets are unable to access each set’s unique gameplay. However, they still function as physical models and have long since been retired anyway.
