The LEGO Group and Formula 1 have teamed up to create a documentary about the LEGO F1 Drivers' Parade that took social media by storm.
The new special, titled Bricks on Track: Building the LEGO F1 Drivers’ Parade, will follow the process that went into making the ten drivable cars and sending them onto the track at the Miami Grand Prix earlier this year. All 20 Formula 1 drivers raced them to the fullest (20km/h) for the most talked-about drivers' parade of the year.
The 48-minute special will be available to watch via select TV and streaming services soon, with a trailer available to watch now via the embedded video below. Viewers will see how the idea first came about and the various obstacles involved in putting the ten cars on track. The LEGO Group and Formula 1 promise 'never-before-seen footage and reactions from the drivers behind the wheel' as well as insights from the LEGO Group’s Head of Design William Thorogood, and Formula 1 presenter and former racing driver Naomi Schiff.
"We are excited to take fans behind the scenes of this incredible journey to the iconic, one-of-a-kind LEGO moment at the Miami Grand Prix," said Jill Wilfert, Senior Vice President, Entertainment Partners and Content at the LEGO Group. "This showcase highlights the creativity and innovation that went into crafting these unique cars, as well as the excitement felt by both drivers and fans. We hope this special inspires F1 and LEGO enthusiasts to build anything they can imagine."
