Show off your LEGO sets in style (and cut down on the dusting) with our guide to LEGO display case deals over the Black Friday period.

Today’s LEGO fans can pick up various third-party display cases for their favourite LEGO sets. In addition to the dynamic poses these display cases facilitate, they help keep dust at bay and prevent your LEGO sets from getting damaged – ensuring they stay looking their best long after you assemble them.

Many display cases and stands are even designed for specific LEGO products, allowing you to use your space as effectively as possible. These cases often come with custom backgrounds that match their contents, helping you to easily create a better sense of place.

Read on to see which display cases are currently available, including ones for your favourite LEGO themes.

LEGO display cases

A broad selection of LEGO sets can be found at Wicked Brick, which specialises in display cases for LEGO sets. The product range includes sets for adult-focussed themes such as LEGO Ideas, and even covers older releases in the theme. If you’re looking for a way to better display 21320 Dinosaur Fossils, 21306 The Beatles Yellow Submarine or 21319 Central Perk, Wicked Brick may be what you’re looking for.

Since their specialisation means high prices, we’re hoping for some Black Friday discounts on these products this year.

LEGO Star Wars display cases

Naturally, the LEGO Star Wars range is a popular choice for display cases. Models like 75192 Millennium Falcon and 75313 AT-AT – released in the Ultimate Collector Series – are natural choices for display cases, and one is provided for each set. Given the continued popularity of these sets, some kind of discount here would be very popular.

Several other LEGO Star Wars sets have received bespoke display cases, including recent release 75331 The Razor Crest. The internal display stand allows the case to mimic the ship’s flight more elegantly – and with The Mandalorian due to release its third season next year, a discount here would be another smart move.

LEGO Titanic display cases

10294 Titanic is one of the LEGO Group’s most ambitious models, but – despite its high price – actually finding it has proven difficult over the last few months. That hasn’t prevented Wicked Brick from making a display case for it, however. The case encloses the entire ship and comes with a choice of backgrounds for an additional fee: choose from either the night sky or a range of historical documents.

As another popular set, this seems like a prime target for a Black Friday discount. Of course, you may wish to track down the set itself before you pick this case up.

LEGO minifigures display cases

It’s likely that you’ve accumulated quite a few minifigures over the years – and it’s also likely you’re more attached to some of them. Fortunately there’s a variety of display case options, covering both specific minifigures and more generic collections.

Whether you want to show your top ten minifigures (or your assortment of Muppet minifigures) Wicked Brick has something for you. If any discounts do appear we suspect they’ll stick to the generic options, given the broader appeal of those products compared to the licensed ones.

IKEA LEGO storage

Wicked Brick offers a range of LEGO display options compatible with IKEA's shelving and display cases. If you're a fan of the Billy bookcase, for example, you can pick up a display podium for your LEGO minifigures or BrickHeadz that fits onto a Billy shelf. 1/3, 1/2 and full-length podiums are available, letting you display as few or as many figures as you like.

If you have an IKEA DETOLF unit, you can pick up backplate images to create a greater sense of place for your LEGO sets. These use magnets to attach to the unit's metal rails, making installation and removal very simple.

You can also pick up display podiums for DETOLF units to make better use of the space. These are available for LEGO sets, minifigures or Brickheadz, and come in white, black or clear options. The LEGO set display podiums offer two tiers, and should be able to handle any smaller LEGO sets.

IKEA Kallax LEGO display windows

IKEA’s KALLAX shelving units are ideal for displaying your LEGO sets, but you’ve still got dust to contend with. Fortunately, there is a solution. Your KALLAX units can paired with bespoke display windows from Wicked Brick. Made from clear Perspex acrylic, these use magnetic attachments to connect to the KALLAX units. The result is a dust-proof storage solution that should keep your LEGO sets looking as sharp as possible.

Wicked Brick display windows comes in black and white options, with gloss and matte versions for each. If you’ve got any KALLAX units in your home, you may want to keep an eye on these products for any Black Friday discounts.

You can also pair these KALLAX display windows with backplate images, which recreate a variety of generic environments. These are ideal for adding some life to your LEGO sets. If you're displaying smaller items, two-tier display podiums are available for KALLAX display units – in the same black, white and clear colour options as the DETOLF cases.

LEGO display stands

Want the option to play with your LEGO sets after making them? Wicked Brick display stands let you display your handiwork a little more economically. Many of these stands are designed for use with a specific LEGO set, ensuring it can be positioned safely (and dynamically) in your home. However, more generic stands are also available if you’re a big custom builder.

As you might expect, stands are available for several LEGO Ultimate Collector Series items. If you want to make your model of 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer a little more intimidating (or show off 75192 Millennium Falcon to better effect). Display stands come in two distinct flavours here – stands for vehicles allow for dynamic poses, while stands for static models offer a sleek black base, with cutouts to stop them from moving about once positioned.

As such, there’s something for everyone to consider – and plenty of different possibilities for Black Friday. We might see discounts on popular stands, or a broader discount across the entire site. Watch Wicked Brick closely over the next few weeks to see what emerges.

How to make a LEGO display case

The best way to make a LEGO display case – that allows you to see your LEGO sets without them getting too dusty – is to buy a specialised product. You can either purchase a case for a particular LEGO set, or (if one isn’t available) use a generic storage solution instead. Wicked Brick’s display windows work in conjunction with IKEA KALLAX shelving, allowing you to create a tasteful storage solution that keeps LEGO sets dust-free.

Does LEGO sell display cases?

The LEGO Group does sell a small range of display cases for its products on LEGO.com. These are typically designed for use with minifigures, although 5006157 Play and Display Case is ideal for slightly larger LEGO models. There is also a range of large-scale plastic brick shelves that may be suitable for displaying LEGO models, although these aren’t dust-proof.

If you’re looking to display a larger LEGO model, a bespoke case from Wicked Brick is your best choice. If a display case for your preferred model isn’t readily available, picking up a KALLAX shelving unit and a Wicked Brick display window may be a better option.
