He is joined during the video by the co-designers on the set, Design Master Mike Psiaki, Graphic Designer Austin Carlson and Model Designer Niek van Slagmaat. Even Carl’s son, Oliver Merrian, worked on the design of this set, contributing a few spooky details.
LEGO 10273 Haunted House: First impressions
The function was a large part of Mike’s role on the set. “As part of the testing of the model we wanted to see how high can this tower be built and still work,” he says in the video. “Carl was convinced it could go really high, I think in the end we built one that was two meters tall or something, and it didn’t work at all.”
“It kind of works,” Carl insists.
