The LEGO Group has showcased fan and master builder displays on its YouTube channel as part of its Return of the Jedi birthday festivities.
May 1 saw the LEGO Group release two dioramas (75352 Emperor’s Throne Room Diorama and 75353 Endor Speeder Chase Diorama) and a collection of BrickHeadz (40623 Battle of Endor Heroes.) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi this year, as well as several other LEGO Star Wars sets from elsewhere in the franchise.
Now, a few weeks on and when the dust has settled, the LEGO Group is showcasing the legacy of Return of the Jedi by highlighting fan builds from within the LEGO Star Wars community through videos on its official YouTube channel. Kelly and Mel, two long-term fans of LEGO, both walked through their intricately detailed builds, inspired by 75353 Endor Speeder Chase Diorama. Both of their builds are a lot bigger than the diorama, built roughly to the same scale as LEGO Star Wars 75322 Hoth AT-ST.
In addition to fan builds, the LEGO Group also spotlighted LEGOLAND New York master builder Joey's take on Luke Skywalker’s iconic crash into the swamp of Dagobah, using 75355 X-Wing Starfighter. Another builder showcased on the YouTube channel who you might already know is Kaitlyn, a contestant of the first season of LEGO Masters Australia. She used 75352 Emperor’s Throne Room Diorama to recreate the iconic scene, building it into a brick-built TV set to reflect her personal memory of watching the film and to showcase the ultimate battle between light and dark.
