It's time to decide which of this year's LEGO advent calendars you want to pick up ready for December 1, as well as which ones you want to risk waiting on to try and grab them at a discount. Waiting for deals on LEGO advent calendars poses a risk since the sets are only produced for a limited time, but you won't need some of this year's entries immediately and can safely wait for a discount on them.

21280 LEGO Minecraft Advent Calendar

LEGO Minecraft is the new kid on the block (excuse the pun) for the 2025 range of LEGO advent calendars, and though we haven't had the chance to go hands-on with the 24 builds ahead of December 1, it's clear this is a great package of prints, parts and minifigures for Minecraft fans, but few other audiences.

Those with a passion for Minecraft will want to add this build to their collection, but those less interested in the game won't find much or any appeal in 21280 Advent Calendar. That should mean that this advent calendar will receive some kind of discount sooner rather than later, and we'd advise Minecraft fans to wait until closer to December to find a deal. We wouldn't wait past December, though.

42668 LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 2025

The 2025 LEGO Friends advent calendar may include some exclusive mini-dolls, but the few missing members of the gang and the minimal number of appealing elements make this a hard LEGO advent calendar to recommend.

The animal figures included in the 24 doors are decent and make this an advent calendar worth grabbing when it inevitably goes on sale. It's common for the LEGO City and Friends advent calendars each year to get discounted after December, and we'd recommend adopting that strategy once more for 42668 Advent Calendar 2025 for just those animal elements alone.

43273 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar

LEGO Disney's 2025 advent calendar focuses solely on Frozen, but unfortunately, it's sticking with micro-dolls rather than at least mini-dolls. There's nothing wrong with mini-dolls, and they're definitely more appealing than micro-dolls, of which only the head accessories are going to have any kind of use outside of this calendar.

Ultimately, this is a LEGO advent calendar for only the most passionate Frozen fans, and many of the exclusive printed designs are going to be specific to the franchise. Those not incredibly passionate about Frozen can safely skip the 2025 LEGO Disney advent calendar. Hopefully, the artwork inside the box will be shared online, as it's worth picking up and displaying.

60475 LEGO City Advent Calendar

As common as it is for the LEGO City and Friends advent calendars each year to go on sale after December, you won't want to miss out on the 2025 edition of LEGO City's annual Christmas model.

With some adorable costumed minifigures, exclusive Christmas jumper torsos, two festive icons and a decent selection of miniature models, 60475 Advent Calendar 2025 is the standout of this year's selection and one you can safely pick up without any discount.

75418 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar

LEGO Star Wars 75418 Advent Calendar has some great exclusive offerings, though the best of them appear in the first few doors. Without delving deeply into spoilers, 75418 Advent Calendar is based around a droid workshop theme and sufficiently sticks to that brief for all of December.

This opens up options for a great assortment of droids that will find plenty of use in your wider LEGO Star Wars collection. It's not the least expensive of this year's advent calendars, but it's still worth picking up ahead of December 1, especially for the exclusive Babu Frik figure.

76456 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar

The good news for your bank account is that this year's LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar isn't as good as previous years. For 2025, the theme's annual Christmas set is focusing two-thirds of its contents on downscaled recreations of Harry Potter icons. This includes creatures, sweets and props, but the concept grows tiring eventually.

As well as these miniature builds, which won't be useful outside of the advent calendar, you'll get eight minifigures. These offer some decent characters and prints. The two Christmas jumpers for each house are especially good, but they don't overcome the flaws of this expensive advent calendar. Many of these characters are available in other LEGO Harry Potter sets, and unless you need those jumpers, you can skip 76456 Advent Calendar.
